VEGETARIAN DISHES TO TRY IN GOA
Goa is often associated with spicy nutty, and delicious seafood delicacies easily available across the city. But what about vegetarian delights? Well, there is a lot to explore, and here's a glimpse of it.
MOOGA GATHI
It refers to a coconut curry blended with tamarind, spices, and chillies and tempered with curry leaves. There are variations of the dish, which include pumpkin, cucumber, and suran.
KHATKHATEM
It refers to a mixed vegetable stew made with raw banana, pumpkin, raw jackfruit, yam, radish, drumsticks, corn, green beans, turnips, yam, and sweet potatoes. The vegetables are cooked with some coconut, tamarind, tur, and moong dal.
SUSHEL/CHAKHO
It is a dry dish made with boiled baby jackfruit, cooked along with coconut, jaggery, and green chillies, and further tempered with mustard.

It is a sweet rice preparation made with soaked rice, ghee, cloves, saffron, roasted nuts, and sugar syrup.

It is a semi-dry chutney dish made with ambade cooked in a thick curry of coconut, jaggery, and chili powder.

Caldin refers to a sweet soup made with coconut milk, bottle gourd, tendlim, and cauliflower.
PAANCH PALE BHAAJI
This side is made with five leafy vegetables, including red amarnath, malabar spinach, moringa leaves, hog plum leaves, and bottle gourd leaves.
TAVSALLI
This steamed dish is made with cucumbers, rawa, coconut, jaggery, and cardamom.
